One might think that this alone would convince you to reject your hypothesis that he is being stopped because he "looks Arab". Or have you combined this hypothesis with some assumption that all airport employees as a class are unfamiliar with the implications of someone wearing a yarmulke?
and for far more than just a wanding.
Duh, obviously I spoke loosely. But can I ask a serious question: even if your conspiracy theory were correct (he's "always stopped" at airports for extra security, because he "looks Arab"), which it's not, what's the big deal? I have to remind you again that ostensibly you are trying to buttress the notion that the US's response to 9/11 has been "disproportionate". Sorry but "a few extra minutes in line at the airport, and taking off your belt" ain't exactly Kristallnacht.
Also, you realize that up against your oh so tragic horror story of your (non-Muslim, I must remind you) friend who's Always Stopped, I could probably with very little effort stack dozens of white, non-Muslim Freepers who would tell you the exact same thing, don't you?
Of course I could be wrong about the reason.
A welcome admission. What is our conversation about, then, I wonder?
Maybe he's on one of those secret lists that you can't get your name off of.
Seriously, the airport employees are stopping him for one reason only: because the computer tells them to. And the computer doesn't know he "looks Arab"! You were just way off base with this whole thing, admit it :)
Of course not. It took a lot of little things like this to build up to Kristallnacht.
You were just way off base with this whole thing, admit it :)
Before I fully admit, let me call my Muslim relatives and see what they think now. Last I heard they weren't too happy.
