If there had been pogroms then maybe I'd call that "disproportionate" response to 9/11.

You're standard is too high to require slaughtering people in the streets before you see abuse.

Ahh, but I know you'll tell me what it says in English. I just know it!

You're [sic] standard is too high to require slaughtering people in the streets before you see abuse.

You're right, you've convinced me, I can no longer resist the overwhelming weight of evidence represented by the single example of the ordeals of your Jewish friend suffering (i.e. being delayed a couple of minutes more than other passengers) at the hands of all the rabidly anti-Muslim airport employees who singled him out because he's Arab-Muslim WHICH HE'S NOT. This example is too much for me. I can no longer deny it. It's the canary in the coalmine. The suffering! Is there any hope of reversing this descent? Seeing as it's gone so far already, I really don't think so. Why will none dare call this what it is? I think I'm gonna cry now.

You know what this anecdote about your travelling-businessman friend being delayed a few extra minutes at airports (as he jets around the world on business) kinda reminds me of? Russia in Grozny. The OAS in Algeria. 1492 Spain. Jerusalem in 1099. You know, stuff like that. The resemblance is just uncanny! It's funny and tragic how history repeats itself. When will we learn?

But you - solitary, brave, and astute - were in the forefront of pointing it out! The courage! Never appreciated in your own day, history shall look kindly upon you in due time. Give yourself a big pat on the back. What's the international country code for Sweden? I intend to nominate you, sir, for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Look, do you have any other vapid comments to ping me about or are you just about done boring me to death? I've sure love to go back and forth with you, O Noble Self-Anointed Defender Of Arab-Muslims (And, More To The Point, Jews Who According To You Look Like Arab-Muslims) From Being Delayed A Couple Extra Minutes At Airports, for thousands and thousands more thrilling posts about how all these vague, anecdotal, and downright petty complaints you have prove that the United States has engaged in a "disproportionate response" to a mass-murderous act of war that killed thousands of innocent people and did hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage to our economy. But at this point I'm afraid that a few more of these posts from you and you'd see what a true "disproportionate response" looks like.

In fact, we may be already there. I've about had it up to here with being constantly told that the most liberal and tolerant society in history is just itchin' to engage in pogroms all the time, and that any nonzero effort to investigate, prevent and respond to acts of war and terror on our part constitutes a "disproportionate" response. So why don't you take your whines and shove them you know where. You've passed beyond boring and become irritating. Bye,

Is there any hope of reversing this descent?

Yes, if the PATRIOT Act is not renewed, thus removing the basis for the over 1,000 abuse complaints (mostly Muslim), and if the Bush administration realizes that "We had to destroy it in order to save it" is not a good method for protecting America against the various evils of the world.

You're full of it, surprisingly dense, strangely monotonous, and I'm no longer amused. Leave me alone. I'm sure the Nobel Committee will be phoning at any moment.

In the version of the document printed by "La Vanguardia" (newspaper of Barcelona) right after the word "measures" there is a final point, nothing else like "similar to those which the Sept 11 attacks sparked in the US"

Although it is not an anti-US newspaper it is not likely to "forget" a sentence to protect the image of the US so the biggest chance is that someone red between lines and decided to make easier for the people to catch "his" vision by completing the speech.

Don't you think this should be subject to liability? I mean, the document is written and public and the piece of news too so it should be quite easy to proof that the person who wrote that was altering the info. This is not a matter of perception, what is written is on the paper.
