philosophy is mostly an old europe waste of time if you ask me. Endless droning on about Hegel and marx and Kierkagaard, and none of it relevant to life in any measureable way. Just a waste of time. Don't mistake bad philosophy for philosophy.
Aristotle and Aquinas are anything but a waste of time.

Actually, I would prefer that they keep the cigarette while airbrushing Sartre out of the picture. Now, now, let's not be mean; we don't have to be mean. 'Cause remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
A perfect suggestion IMHO. Well done.

What you are calling philosophy, I call politics. I discuss politics that is real, that has consequences, that is actionable, that affects my life.Politics is a branch of philosophy. Philosophy is as real as any other intellectual discipline. Without the philosophical "mind games" between Einstein and Bohr, would we have won WWII?

This kind of idiocy almost makes me want to START smoking...just to tick these clowns off. Instead, I'll just stay alive longer and drive 'em nuts.

Hell is other ppl is a funny line, but philosophy is mostly an old europe waste of time if you ask me. Endless droning on about Hegel and marx and Kierkagaard, and none of it relevant to life in any measureable way. Just a waste of time.
Nicely stated philosophical position, Huck.

That was Physics, once known as Natural Philosophy (in Newton's time), unrelated to Nietzche, Sartre, and all that cr*p.

Truly frightening. Genuinely Orwellian.
The French clearly don't understand the whole "free speech" thing.

Sartre was the prototypical nihilist Eurotrash loser!I still can't figure out why the French deify twits like Sartre and Camus while all but ignoring St.-Exupery, Curie, Voltaire et al.

"What I refer to as philosophy is what I decribed above. Endless droning on without ever reaching any palpable conclusions, all the while simply getting into mind games with other "philosophers." I just think it's a waste and has no value in life."
Kind of like the Simon and Garfunkle song "The Dangling Conversation"?
Yes, we speak of things that matter
With words that must be said
Can analysis be worthwhile
Is the theatre really dead
