Liberal Lunatic of the Day
Liberal Lunacy ^ | 3/10/2005 | Beckwith

Nathan Alan Winkler was arrested by police at his home in Tampa, FL, within an hour of his attempt to drive a woman and her two small children off the road.

On Tuesday evening, Michelle Fernandez was driving in South Tampa with her son, 10, and daughter, 3, when another driver tried to run her off the road. The man had a sign over his passenger window that said 'Never forget Bush's illegal oil war murdered thousands in Iraq.'

Fernandez has a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on her car. Fernandez called police from her cell phone when the driver began yelling, blowing his horn, and following her. A partial transcript of the 911 clearly hears the woman in distress:

9-1-1 Dispatch: “Where are you on Kennedy?”

Fernandez: “Right now I'm on Kennedy and Arrawana. Look, he just pulled over next to me, he's stopping the car. It's ridiculous this man! Look he's running after my car. Oh my goodness, he's a fanatic, he's in the middle of the street! He's trying to hurt us. Look at this, what a moron,"

For nine minutes Fernandez stayed on the phone with dispatchers, turning on busy streets, hoping to lose the other driver.

She ended up going to a Little League ball park where she met the police and filed a report. The police arrested Nathan Alan Winkler at his home, where they found the sign, about the size of a business letter, in the car.

"I guess this was a disgruntled Democrat," Tampa Police spokesman Joe Durkin said. "Maybe he has that sign with him so he's prepared any time he comes up against a Republican. This could have been tragic, for her and her children and for other people on the road as this was going on," Durkin said. "But she did all the right things. She showed remarkable poise, she didn't engage him. She called us."

After finding the antiwar sign in Winkler’s car, they booked him into the county jail on one count of aggravated stalking/road rage, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison, Durkin said. He posted his $2,000 bond and was released early Wednesday, jail records show. This was Winkler's first arrest in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Records show Winkler, a web designer and contractor for AT&T, has been registered as a Democrat since 1996. His father was quoted as saying, “I know that he is very anti-Bush”

"I respect him for having his beliefs and feeling so strongly," Michelle Fernandez, who is also a registered Democrat, said Wednesday night, her nerves still frayed. "But here he is protesting the war and lost lives, and he is going to put me and my children in danger? This man has a serious problem."

It's been four months since George W, Bush was re-elected and this nut-bag still has his shorts in a twist. And worst of all it's about the old canard that the war in Iraq is for oil. Geeezzzzz, and he's terrorizing a woman and her two small children with a vehicle full of gas, oil and lubricants.

This seemingly isolated incident is a symptom of a larger problem with Democrats, liberals and the left. The larger problem is, many on the left really don't believe in democracy. They believe, in their hearts and minds, that they know what is best for all Americans. Their arrogance is so deep they can't believe, much less accept there is another point of view and the other point of view is held by the majority.

When any point of view or idea is held or expressed contrary to liberal dogma, the holder is stupid or dumb. George Bush, who had higher SAT scores, a better education than both Kerry and Gore, a fighter pilot and governor of a major state is dumb and stupid.

Only liberals are blessed with the intelligence and wisdom to know what is right for everyone. Their liberal professors told them they were smarter than everyone else and then told them what to think.

Months after the election, we still see liberal mouthpieces complain about the election being stolen, Kerry being slandered, voting machines being rigged, minorities being disenfranchised and on and on. Liberals just can't accept that their candidate and ideas were rejected at the polls.

The reality is that it was the Democrats who slashed tires, paid registration workers with crack cocaine, falsified voting lists and had dead and mystery voters show up at the polls. They even published vote-swapping websites to subvert the democratic process.

I honestly believe that the root of this problem is the liberal hold on education, particularly at the university level, where students are fed a constant diet of liberal propaganda by their professors, who are role models and speaking from a position of authority.

These people have got to get over it and get a life. Bush won. Bush is the president. Bush is in the White House for four more years.

'Never forget Bush's illegal oil war..

This statement always makes me laugh. These dolts obviously have no clue about history, nor what makes up the Articles of Surrender. Break ONE of these articles, (Saddam broke 17) and the war can resume right where it left off. All legal and nice, nice.

But why let facts get in the way of peoples feeeeelings, hmm?

War for oil? If that were true, I'd like to think America would be smart enough to invade Canada or Mexico and save on airfare to the mideast.

I lvoe the quote in the original newspaper story about how Republicans were doing this sort of thing as well...but of course they produced no evidence, or even the names of any victims.

I'd also like to think that we'd be paying far less than $50/barrel and over $2.00 per gallon.

I have a bumper sticker on my truck that says "I am a veteran against Hanoi John Kerry". I've had three people chase me and confront me. Two of them wanted to know where they could get one like it and another one wanted to show me that he had the same one on his car.

ah, the liberals...changing hearts and minds one citizen at a time. This is their strategy for 2008.

I've warned you people these liberals/democrats are seriously mentally ill. Why we haven't started rounding them up is beyond me.

These dolts obviously have no clue about history

They also have no clue about current events.

Their IQ's may be high (though I doubt that in most cases), but they are the most ignorant people on earth.

That's the universal copout. "Well.....well, the Republicans do the same thing!" They're just like children.

We had voter fraud, vandalism and violence against Republicans here in Ohio before the election in November, but it was the RATS who demanded an investigation and cried "Foul!".

Of course the media hid the facts about Dem fraud and intimidation, and then hid the FACTS following the investigation that there was no disenfranchisement of the dems anywhere, anytime.

For the left, facts are only pesky details that have to be hidden by their media cohorts.

This nut should be locked up and the key thrown away. If the war was all for oil, why in the world are we paying for $2.00 a gallon for gas these days? There is an over abundance of liberal stupidity out there these days.

What in the heck is he doing driving a car? Shouldn't he be on a bike or at the most a moped?
