BAGHDAD: American forces have agreed to hand over control of the infamous Abu Ghraib prison to the newly elected Iraqi authorities in an attempt to draw a line under one of the most shameful episodes of the Iraq war. Iraq's human rights minister, Bakhtiar Amin, yesterday told the Guardian that the US had agreed to the pullout at the four main detention facilities, including Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, the prison at the centre of the abuse and torture scandal.
Two other locations in the centre of Iraq and a British run prison in the south will also be handed over to Iraqi control, although no deadline has been set, Mr Amin said.

Yeah right..."one of the most shameful episodes of the Iraq war". IMO, this is way down the list of shame re the Battle of Iraq. Let's not forget the real Shameful Episodes;
1. UN failure to enforce SC rules.
2. UN Oil for Food
3. EU-Russian arms supplied upto the day it started. 4. MSM lies and misreporting.
5.. Paying ransom to terrorist.
6. Murder & mutilation of captives by Terrorist.
7. A host of other shameful episodes that are far more egregious than the Abu Ghraib kerfuffle.

Past Iraqi security personnel have been (are?) well-acquainted with using different measures and techniques to extract results.
Quote: "I bet those prisoners will be begging on their knees to bring back the Americans." Correct, pretty much, that's the deal.
