O'Reilly discussing Rather

Posted on 03/09/2005 10:48:45 AM PST by observer821

O'Reilly has been revisiting Rather's career today. He just replayed Rather's interview with VP Bush the Elder. I had never heard that before. Rather pummeled Bush mercilessly, showing his true and deep colors. What a jerk. We can't be rid of him soon enough. This was the interview that concluded with VP Bush asking if Dan would like his whole career judged based on the seven minutes that he left the set leaving dead air, like he was judging Bush on Iran-Contra. That left Rather speechless. Now, thanks to Dan, we don't have to judge him on that seven minutes, we can judge him on his efforts to interfere with the election of a President. That's much better. Good riddance Dan. Walter was right, you should have been dumped years ago.

Last night O'Reilly made a comment regarding Rather's knowledge or lack of knowledge about the forged documents -something to the effect that Dan was proved right, he DID NOT have anything to do with the setup.

I won't waste my time listening to him again. He can't seem to decide what he is and I'm not interested in hanging around until he does.

Just think about all of those HUGE news stories of the past, the ones that really got attention, Iran-Contra, Watergate, Abu-Graib, every single story, then you know it is a MSM thing. Dan is in the middle of all of them.

It is rather ironic that the Elder Bush made that statement to Rather, and now Rather's career IS being judged on one incident, ie. the forged TANG papers.

Oh sure, you can rattle off a hundred other Rathergate fiascos, but it's the forged papers that brought him down.

A fitting end for a perfect fool.

BUT in the end the Bush41 and 41 got him, he is going out like a lamb, not like a lion, and good for them.

O'Really...just recently figured out the MSM is capsized to port.

Anyone who is that perception-less....shouldn't be reporting anything.

I just want the disgraced Rather to leave the building and board a helicopter.

As much as we all despise this nutcase, it must be very intoxicating to an individual to see your personal efforts in shaping which stories become frontpage news...in his case global news.

Like the saying goes..."Absolute power corrupts absolutely".

O'Reilly is an idiot, just less of one than Dan is.

O’Really is still auditioning for CBS I see. That whole report was based on those fake documents. Rather was ultimately responsible for authenticating the story, which he did not because he was ready to lie to get Bush.

O'Reilly still doesn't realize that many of us stopped our loyal viewing of the factor because of his wish-washy stance on memo-gate. And I'm still waiting for the results of his internal investigation he promised us.
