Jeans are never dressy for church.
Jeans are never dressy for men.
Jeans are only dressy for women in a dark wash, worn with an extra fancy top (but not dressy enough for church or the opera).
IMHO :)
LOL! I remember when I was 12 or so in the mid-70s and I came out of the house for church one Sunday wearing jeans--rolled up to the calf--english riding boots and a a paisley, 3/4-sleeve peasant blouse. My dad had a cow. Mom was out of town so I thought I'd wear what I wanted. Luckily, we were running late and I didn't have time to change.
I agree with your assessment.
You clearly have good Jeans.
Regards,
PS: Men who wear jeans with an oxford shirt, tie, shoes (NOT sneakers) and a sportcoat look nice for going out to a movie and late dinner at a pub or something. But never EVER for a dinner date at a fancy restaurant.
Not only do all the parishners at my church wear jeans, but the pastoral staff as well, even at the pulpit. Our church intentionally made the decision to make church NOT about dressing up. Anyone can walk off the street and feel at home in our church.
IMHO :)
I second that opinion!
My church has two services on Sunday morning. One at 8.45a.m. - a traditional service and another at 11a.m. to appeal to the younger crowd.
Even at the earlier service some folks turn up in jeans.
I cannot get used to it.
Yep!
