Hugh Hewitt makes an enemy's list--Strib #2
City Pages ^ | March 9, 2005 | Paul Demko

Stop us if you're heard this one before: A conservative talk-show host believes the media is guilty of liberal bias. That's pretty much the operating philosophy behind all right-wing radio. But California-based talk-show host and blog evangelist Hugh Hewitt has become obsessed with one specific mainstream-media outlet: the Star Tribune.

"The worst major newspaper in terms of bias and chronic inaccuracy and axe-grinding is of course the Los Angeles Times," Hewitt wrote on his blog last week. "But among the second tier papers, the Minneapolis Star Tribune is as rotten a combination of no-talent tenured editorialists, biased reporters, and make-it-up-pollsters as anywhere in the United States."

Hewitt, whose show is heard locally on the Patriot (AM-1280), then announced that he has reserved the web site www.swarmingthestrib.com. As laid out on his blog and during his radio show last week, Hewitt intends to turn the site into a running critique of Minnesota's largest daily newspaper. The idea is apparently to recruit right-wing volunteers to monitor every political reporter on a daily basis and then detail their perceived sins of liberal bias.

I love it.

I subscribe to the Red Star and their editorial columns and daily columnists are from the belligerent far-left wing of the Democrat party.

I only subscribe for the local news...but I'm always one days away from cancelling my subscription.

The Red Star is hopelessly biased and I wish Hewitt well in trashing the Red Star and their columnists like Nick "I'm smarter than you" Coleman and Doug "Fellow Traveller" Grow.

"the media is guilty of liberal bias. That's pretty much the operating philosophy behind all right-wing radio." Not really, the bias of the MSM is demonstrable fact. Read the LA Times Op-Ed page for a few days (if you can stand it). Case closed.

The Minneapolis Red Star and Tribune. That's a good pick, MN is only inches away from becoming a Red state. This will move it even closer.

Love the fact the writer included the truthful jab at the LA SLIMES...!

Hey AMERICA......Los Angeles just voted VILLAGROSA into the top spot for the Mayoral runoff......Think about it, the Nations second largest city with the most illegals is a month and a half away from electing a Pro Stanced Amnesty, La Raza minded man to lead them.....

I am not a big fan of Mayor Hahn but he now MUST win the run off........ DONATE TO THE CAUSE.....A VILLA GROSA victory could be a disaster for the entire country.....

The Northern Alliance blogs have been whacking the STrib pretty mercilessly. Columnist Nick Coleman in particular.

The LA times is "of course" the worst, but then again the NYT, though only fractionally more honest and less axe-grinding, does far more damage because it serves as the "paper of record" to a lot of news outlets; it sets the agenda of many news broadcasts nationwide, and it's only one very fine hair away from the LA slimes in bias.

The only ones that don't know of the MSPress's bias are those that don't WANT to know.. And why do they, that don't know, don't want to know.?.

Propaganda.... that they have received in americas public schools and colleges.. and on, TV(cBS,nBS,aBS and pBS) and at the movies and in periodicals.. A propaganda blitz to make even Goebells bow in shame to it.. Probably because America has ZERO laws prohibiting sedition. Sedition is LEGAL in the United States.. There are laws against treason but the bar for establishing treason is so high that convicting of treason in the U.S. is literally impossible and counter productive to do or even to consider prosecution.. The left knows that..

THIS, is the reason for and strengh of americas socialist propaganda. And the morphing of america into a democracy from the republic it once was.. The states have become vassals to the federal giverment, not the other way around.. Even the republican party is just a kinder gentler form of socialism.. Which is quite all right with the left.. as long the bar is moving left'er.. and it IS..

I agree...and Nick Coleman deserves every bit of it.

He itruly a self-righteous, condescending ass. It showed in his previous radio show and it shows in his columns at the Red Star.
