Michael Schiavo has even more to panic about. Whether they succeed or fail, Felos OWNS Mikey. Felos has every right to charge him for his services and by now that fee would be WAY over a million. What if Felos waived the fee, you say? Ah, but did he mention the fuel surcharge? :)
Aside from the tab this has run up, let's say the case ends---either way---and it's time to write our histories, hawk our books and TV movies...What's to stop Felos from saying things like "It troubled me that Michael always refused to take a lie detector test"---what but cash is to stop him from fueling speculation and hyping the story at Michael's expense? Felos can always stand on his abstract "moral" grounds and say he had no personal feelings about Terri either way, and thus no ulterior motive beyond abstract compassion and philosophical belief in the virtues of euthanasia. But from that "high ground" he can take all kinds of free shots at Michael Schiavo.
It could wind up costing Michael Schiavo a heap of money to keep Felos under control. George Felos has the upper hand in that relationship. Goons like Schiavo are usually slow to figure this out about granola eaters like Felos. Monkeys are slow to understand organ grinders.
Also, Schiavo's in greater danger than Felos if Terri wins, because if Schiavo's worst nightmare starts to develop and he is prosecuted, Felos can cut a deal and save himself at Schiavo's expense. Michael Schiavo has no such leverage.
Yes, George Felos is going to have a long, long list of expenses for Mikey to cover.
