Can't she be a WalMart greeter sitting down? "Walmart doesn't have sit down jobs..the door greeters levitate all day." I don't think greeters are allowed to sit unless they have a doctor's note? And then that is only for a short period of time.

How about a stocker? She would be very useful for stocking thise lower shelves, and she wouldn't have to stand!

She could just kinda...scoot or something...

"Are we really going to let the frail 80 year old woman starve on the curb?" (Democrat demogoguery)"

Oh, this is too easy . . . no, we're going to let Terry Schiavo starve to death in Florida with government permission, something we'd not be allowed to do to a dog or horse.

Or, how about this one . . . we're going to let Mary Jo Kopechne drown in a car while her boyfriend stands on her shoulders to haul his sorry a$$ out of the car so he can set up tennis appointments and contact his attorneys.

This is too easy!

"Are we really going to allow the frail 80-year old woman, whom work is no longer an option, to starve sitting out on the curb?"

In a word, yes.

I can't save every frail old woman in the world. I can save those who are meaningful to me and attack the problem from the inside out.

But I have limits to my means and I must be the final judge of what that limit is.

For those who feel that more should be done, they are free to go as far as they can, as individuals, before they must quit because they can go no further. Limits. Reality.

Charity cannot be forced or it becomes robbery by another name. Individual largesse is meaningful only with your own money.

The same thing holds true of "children". I don't feel any greater obligation than the parents, and if I have provided for my children I have morally met my obligation and I have reduced the pool of neglected children.

there is not a single parent not capable of providing for their children, but only if it's their priority. Forget SUVs; forget cable TV; forget cigarettes; forget alcohol; forget the lottery; forget "sport" shoes; forget "sport jackets" ...

1) Yes, that's a lie.

2) Democrats seem to have no problem with removing a brain damaged woman's tube and having her starve to death in her hospital bed.

I just tried to send an email on her website. First you have to fill out a form giving your name, address, phone etc. Then it scans it and I get a response:

Your zip code indicates that you are outside of the 2nd District of Wisconsin. Regrettably, I am unable to reply to any email from constituents outside of the 2nd District of Wisconsin.

When I'm an 80 year old woman, hopefully I will have a PRIVATE account that has grown and accumulated over time.

I personally know a 78-yr-old widow, who is a notch baby. This means she gets a very low SS, based on her year of birth.

She gets 1/2 her late husband's SS. She has full medical under BadgerCare (Medicaid). She has had laryngeal cancer (cured) and is in treatment for breast cancer. She gets food stamps. She gets housing assistance. She gets fuel assistance. She gets SSI. Her children and grandchildren drive her and help out with chores, food, firewood. She lives with her 85-yr-old sister, who hasn't much, either and, while I don't know for sure, most likely is also on state assistance to the elderly.

This woman worked all her life in a low wage factory job sewing buttons on cards. I have known her for about a decade and rarely hear a complaint. She is cheerful, despite a life most of us would hope never to experience. For the past 30 years, she and her husband lived in a rented trailer on a rented lot w/wood heat and no running water.

This is a picture of someone in real extreme poverty on the present day SS system, which will not change a bit for her. Tammy knows this. Her constituents in Madison most likely haven't a clue.

In a word, no.

Social Security reform will KEEP frail 80-year old women FROM starving on the curb.

"Are we really going to let the frail 80 year old woman starve on the curb?"

That's a question each person should ask themselves individually. Yes and no are both acceptable answers. But marshalling the power of the State to force others to provide help against their will is NOT an acceptable answer--because that's theft.

The Good Samaritan provided help on his own time, and on his own dime. He didn't force others to help at the point of a sword.

My gram is 80-something. The City just raised her property taxes to $11,000.00 a year, on a home she has owned since 1940.

I had an argument with our councilman - "Why are you taxing my grandmother out of her home?"

He is a democrat, of course.

"Well, so we can provide housing for the poor."

"Did it ever occur to you, you J@CK@SS, that if you left her alone, she wouldn't be poor?"

Sigh. Democrats.

As always, they are kicking my grandmother down the stairs.

That's reasonable. How long could you sit on a doctor's note, anyway?

Question : "Are we really going to allow the frail 80-year old woman, whom work is no longer an option, to starve sitting out on the curb?"

Response : Exactly at what age do "WE" let someone sit on the curb and starve..? Whats the cutoff point..

In the day and age of the lawyer society, can somebody still be called a bald faced liar in public without being arrested?

If so, Tammy should be called a liar on the floor of the House.

Time to start calling these people on this garbage.

Read All About Tammy.
She sounds like she's addressing little kids. (Maybe Tammy doesn't give her democrat constituents a lot of credit in the *comprehension dept.*)

And you won't want to leave without printing out a photo!
