There are the Hindu-related personality cults, like Sri Chinmoy's group and other Mahareeshi types.
There's the Buddhist-related cults, like the Giant Japanese guy who set off the Sarin in the Tokyo subway system.
In some ways the believers of the Virgen of Medjugorie are a Roman Catholic cult, although I don't think they threaten non-believers.
A CULT is generally an offshoot of a major religion, people who think they alone have the "ear of God" so to speak, and that fact makes them dangerous sinc all their action are based on the will of God and everyone should listen to them.
Most of Islam IS a CULT, the offshoots are the reasonable ones.
