Yea , thats still there.Very expensive and vERY commercial now. Nothing new or innovative happining there at all. Tourist trade mostly.

Café Wha was a joke. A basement dump with a legitimate claim to fame that Jimi Hendrix got a career boost there. James Taylor's friends the "Flying Machine" (Danny Kortchmar) were often there. I never even set foot in it. Only place I patronized, and have fond memories of, was the Café Au Go Go where the Blues Project was the unofficial house band. Also the Anderson Theater which became the Filmore East. Saw the last incarnation of Yardbirds there with Jimmy Page using a violin bow on his guitar. Saw Hendrix too stoned to the gills on LSD it seemed. 3 times he played the opening riffs of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" as a goof. Yuk yuk yuk
