The actual nominations for this extraordinary recognition of intellectual endeavor, the Nobel Prize, are KEPT SECRET FOR 50 YEARS, so anyone using the term "Nobel Prize nominee" is NOT supported by the Nobel Prize Committee.

Nonsense. The Nobel shortlist is known and widely discussed every year prior to the awards being given. Now, it may be an unofficial list, but it is a list just the same.

Well counselor, it is not nonsense. Hammesfahr never made the "shortlist" as he was not put forward by the Nobel Prize nominating committee. In fact he was not nominated by any committee at all and certainly not by any recognized medical authority. Hammesfahr was nominated by a local politician, Mike Bilirakis, as a favor to a friend and constituent.

"Hammesfahr said he was nominated for the prize by Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Bilirakis, who wrote a letter to Stockholm recommending the doctor for the honor several years ago"

After discovering this I had my wife nominate me in the same manner. I even have a certificate memorializing the event. Should I include my nomination in my CV??
