Attorney for Michael Schiavo, George Felos, expresses his outrage over Terri's family's request to allow Terri to eat by mouth once her feeding tube is removed.

"Terri Schiavo should be given the opportunity to swallow and eat food like a regular person," David Gibbs told Greer.
"But Felos said the court has repeatedly found such efforts would be useless and might lead to infection and Schiavo's death."
"Such a death from aspirated food entering her lungs would be painful, Felos said."
"Mrs. Schiavo is entitled to a peaceful death with dignity," he said. "She's going to aspirate and she's going to have an extended, gruesome death" if fed.
This seems like a mighy weak arguement considering that they are trying to kill her anyway. Which raises a red flag. If they were smart they would allow this, that way if she did aspirate and die, they would not be held responsible for her death.
The fact that they are fighting this so badly makes me think that they are worried that she just might be able toeat on her own, even if it is soft foods or liquids at first.
