Kuwait's Parliament could next month consider a bill granting women the right to vote, a Government minister said yesterday.
Washington has been pressing its allies in the Middle East to bring in political reforms, saying lack of freedom and democracy have fostered violent Islamic militancy inspired by the al Qaeda terrorist network led by Saudi-born Osama bin Laden.
Asked when the female suffrage bill would be debated in the Gulf Arab state, Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet and Parliament Affairs Mohammad Sharar told reporters: "I think in March, God willing."
"We think it will be approved by parliamentarians in light of international circumstances," Sharar said after a meeting to urge lawmakers to speed up the bill. "We're not isolated from the rest of the world."
The evil MSM will not utter word of the truth. Katie Couric and ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC will totally spike the story.
They won't like it, but it'll get covered, and W will talk about it every chance he can. You're overestimating MSM's power on this one.
Many women in this country vote for Clintons. Is it a good idea?
Many men supported Clinton too - especially AFTER he got a little something in the white house. Morons come in alls shapes, sizes, colors and sexes.
The majority is women. They out number the men. Yes there is stupid men. Since the time of Eve words of the evil snakes sway women more easily. Sex is men's downfall.
Not one shred of truth or honest reporting.
Just a case of thinking with the wrong head but that shouldn't keep women from voting.
Of course this was inevitable. Bush had nothing to do with it. Just like the collapse of the Soviet Union. The collapse was inevitable, and it wasn't due to any of the policies of the Reagan administration. Yeah, that's the ticket.
I'm no defender of the MSM, but I don't think this story can be squashed. It's too big and moving too fast.
For example, headline on the current Newsweek, next to the photo of the sexy Lebanese chick, is "Where Bush Was Right".
Here is a big bunch of Bull.
Hillary: Women Leaders Less Corrupt
New York Senator Hillary Clinton touted the ethical standards of female leaders like herself on Monday, telling a forum at New York University that women in government are less corrupt than their male counterparts.
"Research shows the presence of women raises the standards of ethical behavior and lowers corruption," Clinton told the Vital Voices' Women's Global Leadership Summit, in quotes picked up by NYU's student newspaper, the Washington Square News.

She did not comment, however, on the myriad of scandals that marked her tenure as first lady.
Reclaiming her role as the world's foremost feminist, Clinton sometimes stuck a strident note, telling the crowd of UN activists, abortion advocates, and college students, "Women's rights are human rights and human rights are women's rights and we cannot settle for anything less."
She also blasted the Bush administration for attempting to restrict abortions, saying, "I regret that the government in my country is making it more difficult for women in this country to receive safe [abortions]."
Worldwide, 68,000 women die every year, she said, due to unsafe abortions.
The Vital Voices' Women's Global Leadership Summit will continue in New York throughout the week and will include 25 women leaders from around the world.
In Kuwait the women have lots of money but can't vote.
In Afghanistan and Iraq women can now vote but have little money.
I do believe the Kuwaiti women are jealous.
That's a good thing :o)
Just left-wing sexism. Do you think anyone will demand an apology and encourage her to take diversity classes? Me neither. I like the usual one that goes if women ran the world we'd have no wars. Why? Women are impervious to bullets? I think not. They'd talk things out? Well that's what we have the UN for - they've done such a good job preventing war...NOT.
I for one fear the rise of women. There is too many years of anger. If you are married, you know they never forget.
Well we've always had the garage and the basement. And rest assured, you'll always have a job taking out the trash.
A man needs a cave.
