David Brooks is one of only two conservstive columnists at the NY Times. the other is William Safire who is about to retire. Brooks is excellent.

Safire retired last January 24, IIRC. He's being replaced by John Tierney, who's no liberal, starting in April.

Brooks isn't "conservative" like most of us are "conservative." He is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, and generally liberal on all the other social issues. I also seem to remember him getting a bit wobbly on Iraq, though not as bad as that girly-man Tucker Carlson.
