I haven't followed it closely lately; you are correct in that regard.
However, what is more relevant, I have followed politics closely since I first voted in 1970. One does not need to know the details to know how the parties involved will behave. I base my opinion on how the Republicans will act on decades of watching them. The facts of the case are much less important than the players.
