To: Outland

How about using a self sealing tanks like they use on jetliners ?
I don't know, using Hydrogen can't be any worse or dangerious than using propane or natural gas in a car.

The problem is that a hydrogen atom is small enough to squeeze past the molecules of the material containing it. Also, depending on what that material is, some of the hydrogen may bond to it. As far as I know, there is no room-temperature substance that can prevent hydrogen escape.

And no, aside from hydrogen's nearly invisible flame, it is no more dangerous than propane or nat-gas... but that's dangerous enough in some hands.
