I know, let's blame SUVs. "A barrier designed to resemble the front of a pickup or sport utility vehicle hits the side of the vehicle at 31 mph."
If this was supposed to make me think that trucks and SUVs are evil incarnate, it missed the mark. It did, however, make me laugh a bit. Perhaps that's because I myself drive one of those dreaded squishers of small cars (cue maniacal laughter).

Based on my observations, most accidents of any sort were precipitated by a stupid move on the part of a driver. Doesn't matter what they are driving. I am bothered by the belief of some drivers that because of what they drive they are invulnerable in an accident. That leads to a certain "I can do what I damn please" attitude.

That, in fact, could be automated ~ build a redlight runner camera with quad-50's.
