Cutting through the noise, the substance of Soderber's remarks clearly are The Democrats are very upset that things seem to be going well for the Bush administration. But, these few successes can't be credited to President Bush. He can still screw up and we Democrats can still blame him for any failures. We just have to work hard to make him fail or, at least, make it look like hes failed.
There you have it. The Democrats wish Bush to fail, even though a failure for Bush is a failure for the country. In the clearest of terms, Soderberg declares that the Democratic party is so full of hate for Bush that they would rather see the United States suffer a military and political disaster than see President Bush's policies successful.
By the way, this exchange, was only reported by OpinionJournal.com, the Washington Times and Rush Limbaugh.

"...We just have to work hard to make him fail or, at least, make it look like hes failed.Bingo. It's amazing the number of lefties jumping in front of the parade these days--I guess they learned well from their mentor, Der Slickmeister.
Expect more thunder-stealing by the left as the ME reforms before our eyes. Remember all those lefty congresscritters voting for the war in Iraq yet fought for the terrorists all through the war? Don't be surprised when they wave the flag in their '06 campaigns and claim victory in the ME.

OMG. I knew they were whackos, I knew their hatred ran deep, but this is scary in terms I could never have fathomed! No wonder this party is so full of venom - they're willing to sacrifice the good of EVERYONE because they (boo freakin' hoo) didn't get their way. What a bunch of spoiled, immature, crybaby, ignorant, UNCARING jerks!!

"superpower myth"
And the recent progress in the ME is a myth? It's all Bush's fault of course.
Get a life Demos! We are a superpower. "Reality" has a way of "annoying" Demos whose words do not match their actions.
Bush III in '08.

Rush has been saying for quite awhile that liberals want America to fail so that they can reacquire power. This woman was stupid enough to say it out loud in public and on T.V.
Her mindset just sickens me. Unfortunately I bet many Democrats share her view.

"What I argue is that the Bush administration fell hostage to the superpower myth, believing that because we're the most powerful nation on earth, we were all-powerful, could bend the world to our will and not have to worry about the rest of the world. She begins with a false premise. I believe the Bush administration would say that because we are the only superpower we have a responsibility to use that for the betterment of the world. She almost certainly would disagree with the application, but she doesn't even understand the issue.
I think what's happening in Lebanon is great, but it's not necessarily directly related to the fact that we went into Iraq militarily."
Now there's a solid case of denial of the clear facts.
Then, when Stewart started comparing Bush to Reagan, Soderberg said, "Well, there's still Iran and North Korea, don't forget. There's hope for the rest of us. There's always hope that this might not work."
The evil inherent within the democrat party on clear display here.
