Since I set my 77-year-old Democrat father-in-law's homepage to The Washington Times web site, he has cancelled his newspaper subscription.

Same here.
They give them away free and I still throw them out unread.
We are constantly harassed by the NYT. When I tell them I wouldn't want their paper if it was free, then THEY HANG UP ON ME before making a nasty comment.

This would explain why the government is going after the internet tooth and claw nowadays. Beware McCain. Watch out for Bush.

But if newspapers disappear, what will we wrap fish in?Or fertilize our gardens with? After the OKC bombing, I understand the New York Slimes was about to call for a ban on all fertilizer until they realized they'd put themselves right out of business!

The title is: CNN flops in February as Fox News surges FNC only cable news network to see gains in primetime. Heartwarming story!

Ditto! Several months ago, I got an offer in the mail to sign up for a "special subscription price" for the NYT (I live in Sacramento, Ca). I sent it back with a note that I wouldn't have their rag in my house at any price, including free. Never heard from them again.

What they failed to note was the big increase in market share for Fox News. That probably was where the increase in tv % came from.
