Norville to Anchor From 'Home Confinement' [Martha Stewart]
AP/Yahoo ^ | 3/5/2005

NEW YORK - Now HERE'S a good excuse for working at home. Deborah Norville will anchor Monday's program of "Inside Edition" from her home on Long Island, N.Y., to try to give viewers a taste of what Martha Stewart's home confinement is like.

Norville will be fitted with the same type of ankle bracelet that is being used to monitor Stewart's location now that she has been released from prison.

Over a 24-hour period, Norville will keep a record of everything she does and report on what the experience is like, the show said.

"Inside Edition," a syndicated newsmagazine, airs weeknights.

So, she isnt allowed to leave a space 143 acres big? Umm... if I arranged the space properly, I havent left an area that size for months myself. School, work, home... Roads in between... No wait, Christmas screwed me up with a trip to the Big City. I would have to use my 48 hour pass.

I wonder if it would be hard to sneak in there and move the little detector things so they went off every time she left the kitchen.

Is that what he's doing? LOL

In all seriousness Leno is a comedian. It's the appropriate forum for this material. Just as Inside Edition is a tabloid show.

I'm just tired of M.J. and Martha drawfing any real news on supposed news outlets. FOX needs to catch a clue. An hour on Greta is more than enough.

they defend her because they claim she was only targetted because she is wealthy.

generally speaking, this is the latest "theme" regarding application of justice in the US - that the wealthy are unfairly targeted. so a wealthy preson who is accused of child molestation, can claim the accusers are motivated by money. no proof mind you, simply because you are wealthy, means you "could" be a target of a civil suit, and that invalidates the charges against you. a wealthy CEO who commits corporate fraud, can claim the jury is motivated by jealousy. so basically, the elites are asking for some kind of blanket immunity based on their status.

so where does that leave our justice system, if this were the new standard? do the laws only apply to "regular" people? the son of sam laws prevent criminals from profitting from their crimes after being released from jail - they cannot write or sell books or movies, the money would go to their victims. so why can martha do a TV show? has she yet offered up any compensation to the people who bought her shares of stock that she sold on the tip, when she knew it was going to go down, and those buyers would lose money?

heheh! Although, it's really not about money. She's earned her Turkey Hill estate, that's fine. What I find deliciously silly is the media fawning over her every move.

Deborah and the Inside Edition producers care and are deeply saddened. And they're banking on a .2 share to care. HAH

Absolutely true, everything you said in the first paragraph. I'd like to also point out that Rush and Hannity are wealthy themselves. As for the rest... we'd have to argue about her real crime. She was not an insider acting illegally, strictly speaking. She was the friend of an insider acting illegally. And BTW, who the hell tipped of Waksal in the first place?

Owing compensation to the people who bought her shares of Imclone? Not really. First of all we don't know who they are, and secondly you always buy stocks at your own risk.

Have you heard that Martha bought the estate, the horses, and everything that goes with it, by working her tail end off?

Gosh, the more people bash this woman, the more I like her...

I agree with you 100%. I'd like to point and laugh at the media's treatment of her release, is all. More power to her.

I doubt that Martha has anything to do with it. It is Norville's show.

Who cares about Norville to watch her try to cash in on Martha's problem.

Possible, but unlikely.

She can't leave the house. Won't be able to roam around the property. It is called "house arrest".

That's a matter of debate. Be sure you know whereof you speak before pronouncing it as fact.

ARGH see? We're debating the finer points of Martha's house arrest, just like Inside Edition wants!
