Just wondering....

this case shows us just how depraved some people are....especially when they have something to gain from it.

Yes, that is exactly what it means. The nurses and the cna's at the nursing home used to sneak food into Terri behind Michael's back. Take a look at this:

"A year later, in April 2001, her death by dehydration was ordered to begin, and the day her feeding was stopped her brother and sister came by with a spoon and a cup of pudding, asking a nurse to try to feed her by mouth." "The nurse refused and reported the request to others.

When Judge Greer heard of this feeding attempt:

"I don’t want anyone trying to feed that GIRL," [ Video ] Greer thundered from the bench in 2001.
