***the other night Dandy Dan was on Letterman and told him that the papers could have been "authenticated if we had had more time".

denial....denial.....denial***

How could they authenticate something that was written on a computer that wasn't in use at the time?

Regarding the Letterman show: Rather has to keep stating that the documents weren't found to be forged. It's all he can cling to. I'm sure that the folks who wrote that report were pressured to write that so that he could save face. Instead, saying that the documents "couldn't be authenticated" or something to that affect leaves Dan with something to keep saying until he leaves the air.
