I think I told y'all this before, but here goes again.
I participated in a public debate with a gay rights activist on the topic of civil unions several years ago. I got him to admit to a room of over a hundred people that he and his movement would not be satisified with the half-measure of civil unions.
He stated outright that state-sanctioned gay marriage was the goal of their campaign and that they supported civil unions b/c it was a 'stepping stone' to the gay marriage.
Remind me never to debate you.
