We Are Family Video To Be Delivered To 61,000 Elementary Schools March 11
WAFF pulls information from web site following AFA article
If you have children or grandchildren in elementary school, you need to know about a new video being sent to 61,000 elementary schools. The We Are Family video will be delivered on March 11. It is produced by the We Are Family Foundation (WAFF), a pro-homosexual organization. Homosexual organizations have long used the schools to promote homosexuality.
When AFA alerted supporters about the video in our January AFA Journal, WAFF threatened to sue AFA for exposing the pro-homosexual content on WAFFs Web site. WAFF attorneys threatened to sue us unless we recanted our statements, removed the article from our Web site, and issue an apology to WAFF. We refused. Thus far, WAFF has not sued AFA, primarily because they had no cause.
The AFA Journal article focused on a video project involving the 1970s hit song, We Are Family, co-written by WAFFs founder, Nile Rodgers. The video features over 100 characters from childrens television. A teachers guide will accompany the DVD to encourage discussions after children view We Are Family. The video will also air over the Disney Channel, PBS and Nickelodeon on March 11.
Under the guise of promoting tolerance for other categories such as race, gender, age, disabilities, etc., the WAFF Web site openly promoted homosexuality as a normative lifestyle. There was a Tolerance Pledge that encouraged signers to pledge respect for homosexuality, and work against ignorance, insensitivity and bigotry.
While everyone should promote tolerance, a promotion of homosexuality should not be thrust on little children and unexpecting parents. It is absolutely wrong for schools to be used to promote the homosexual lifestyle.
While there is nothing questionable in the video itself, the site included a teachers guide to use with the children to discuss the video that aggressively normalized same-gender attraction and same-sex marriage. There was also a recommended reading list for children and adults that included such illustrated childrens books as the lesbian tome, Heather Has Two Mommies, which discusses artificial insemination, and Daddys Roommate, which included an illustration of two men in bed together.
The WAFF Web site ran a list of allies that virtually ran the gamut of homosexual advocacy groups: Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation; Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network; Human Rights Campaign; National Gay and Lesbian Task Force; and Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians & Gays.
Following publication of the AFA article, the controversial materials on the WAFF Web site were immediately removed from public access. The only exception was the tolerance pledge, which was altered from its original format. Evidently WAFF did not want parents to know what was on their site and in the teachers guide.
A good school system will always work with parents, not against them. We encourage parents to find out what, if anything, will be going on in their schools in connection with the We Are Family video.
AFA is recommending that parents take the following simple steps always ensuring that communications with school officials be conducted in a polite and civilized manner:
If you are concerned, here are things to do:
1. Ask another parent or a small number of parents to join you. Contact your schools principal. Ask him or her if they plan to show the We Are Family DVD at school.
2. Ask if the teachers guide will be used in facilitating any discussion, and ask for the opportunity to review the teachers guide.
3. Ask very specifically if the subject of homosexuality will be brought up by teachers or discussed if brought up by a student.
4. If the school assures you that homosexuality will not be discussed, thank them politely. If you are informed that homosexuality will or may be discussed, ask for permission to sit in on the discussion. Invite other parents to attend with you. A good school will welcome involvement of parents.
Should you have problems with your school, or if you would simply like to tell us about your experience in dealing with this issue, e-mail us at contact@afa.net.
Sincerely,
Don
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association
P.S. Please forward this to other parents of elementary school children.

I don't think parents care about these things anymore. "Is the kid out of my hair?" That's all most of them seem to care about.

I called my little girls school this morning and spoke with her teacher. They'll be on the look-out for the DVD. She said this is the first she has heard of it.
Praise God we're a small rural school.

Here's an email that I composed and sent out to my mailing list:
Hi brothers and sisters,
I have finished putting the We Are Family Foundation pages up on my web server, but first a little background:
Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family and Rev. Lou Sheldon of American Family Assn. have been leading the charge with respect to the We Are Family Foundation propaganda.
We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) supposedly began following the tragedy of 9/11. Nile Rodgers, a very liberal music producer, used the horror of 9/11 as a launching pad and catalyst to further his agenda. That is completely despicable, and he should be ashamed of himself.
WAFF was created for no other purpose than to indoctrinate Americas youth. The engine for change is no surprise the public school system. A curriculum was developed around a diversity message and it pulls heavily from other sources, two of the largest being the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) and a website
www.tolerance.org run by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The WAFF website was initially registered in March of 2002 and has slowly developed since then. The site underwent a drastic change in look, feel, and content beginning in February of this year. What would drive that sudden change? Nothing else than the light of truth that was shone into its murky abyss. Dr. Dobson commented via his radio program how a video was being put together using a whole host of entertainers, both human and animated. He made a comment about SpongeBob being a covert effort by the entertainment community to introduce homosexual tolerance to youth. This set off a huge firestorm of debate and ridicule. Most of the derisive comments were aimed squarely at Dr. Dobson.
The fact of the matter is that SpongeBob is indeed symbolic of the homosexual community. I dont know if the character was initially created that way, but the homosexual community has used SpongeBob as a form of mascot (I wont go into reasons why since they are disgusting). This information can be verified (although I dont recommend it) by doing a thorough Google search.
A critique of Dr. Dobson and Rev. Sheldon is that they were confused and in their zealousness went to a different site:
http://www.waf.org to get their information. WAFF maintains that the two websites are wholly unrelated. As many of you know, my specialty is computers and I would dispute WAFFs assertation. I spent some time gathering web evidence last night and I have a pretty high level of confidence that the two sites are related, with waf.org preceding WAFF by a few years and of a much more limited scope. However, I cannot prove my suspicions 100%, so take my remarks in this paragraph with a grain of salt.
Anyways, the current WAFF site is pretty antiseptic other than its inane worldview. Please take a look at it:
http://wearefamilyfoundation.org since this will be important to view the changes that have been made. WAFF contends that their website does not promote homosexuality and invites any viewer to find a place where it does on their website.
Now, please go to my website:
http://www.datatogo.com/waff and you will be presented with some links to the WAFF website as it existed in January of this year. You will see many broken images, which is normal since WAFF has deleted those from existence, but you will easily be able to see the text. Also, you will probably get a little dialog box that pops up and says Do you want to debug?. Just click no. The old WAFF website utilized some Javacript that no longer exists.
You will see major differences between the new WAFF and old WAFF websites, and can clearly see how the old WAFF website was replete with propagating homosexuality and, in fact, had that as their main focus.
As I stated previously, the old WAFF website used information from other sources on the internet. These other sources still exist and will allow you to see the content in its entirety. Here are the two links to do that:
http://www.tolerance.org/teach/web/wfc/
http://www.adl.org/prejudice/closethebook.pdf
Pay particularly close attention to how their methods focus on turning children away from the one true God and his son, Jesus Christ.
We must remember that the battle rages on. Please get this information to as many of your friends and relatives as possible. The FedEx company has agreed to deliver 61,000 packages to elementary schools this month, free of charge!
In Christ,
