I'm not a Republican either. I believe I'm still registered as an Independent. I don't care what your party registration is, nor do I assume everyone is a Republican since I am not. I have chosen Republicans has the best vehicle to advance what I believe.

What I do reject is the very attitude that led to '92 and Clinton. That is the attitude I discern against Santorum, and that attitude resulted in 8 years we are still in process of recovering from with Hill interested in continued dominance.

It is one thing to make a mistake once. To repeat that mistake quite another.

Yep, the Repubs are going to have to step up to the plate for Santorum.. Casey may be pro-life, but he's still a Dem, and we do NOT want the Dems to gain control of the Senate. You think it's bad NOW? Don't forget what it was like 12 years ago, when the Repubs couldn't get ANYTHING passed. It's still hard, only because the Dems are SO entrenched in the minds of the media, that it's hard to get the Repub. message out sometimes and convince voters. Just means WE have to work harder on our friends and neighbors.

Relax, there's time. This is something the Republicans and/or Conservatives have to toughen up and unite for.

Didn't Casey run in a state-wide race before and lose? Was it a Democrat primary? He came across as a negative, mean campaigner and was rather easily defeated. I can't remember what the office was.

Casey lost to Rendell in the dem primary in 2002. Dem primary voters are the looney left and ultra abortion-on-demand types, and they were for Rendell, big-time. This is why they were worried about hafer in the dem primary, despite her reputation as a shrew and not a good fund-raiser, she may have won the primary, but would have lost the general to Santorum.

Everyone is ready for Casey to move to DC. HOLD ON... it is 18 months until the actual election. Casey is not bright, all you have to do is watch him in an interview to know this. He has a name, and Rendell's corrupt dollars behind him, but that is all.

Casey is a hack. Look for the union goons to be for him, big-time as well. Rick can beat him. Look for a vicious campaign though.

Santorum is one of the few who has stuck his neck out for conservatives in the Senate and has taken the hits. It would be a very bad election night indeed in 2006 if he were to lose for conservatives.

Specter has voted for 100% of Bush's judicial nominees. I don't particularly care if he's the champion of them, we can get other people for that. If he votes our way on them, that's good enough for now.

And you'd have to prove to me that they dumped money to Specter, and even if they did, whatever it took, would have taken 10X as much with Toomey, and your assertion that they would have recieved more donations is highly speculative. I can't imagine that there were all these people dying to donate money to Toomey that wouldn't have instead just donated it to Bush or another Senate candidate. I can't imagine a sane conservative being more concerned about winning the Pennsylvania Senate race then keeping Bush in/Kerry out of office.

One good thing about Casey being in the race is that abortion is off the table for the election. The race will be a referendum on the economy and President Bush' approval rating in the Keystone State. With job growth improving and freedom spreading through the Middle East, it could give a big boast to Santorum, especially in the Philly suburbs. The Casey vs. Santorum showdown will be decided in the Philly burbs.
