the story does not say why he was not allowed to go out and join his classmates...whats the whole story here...I think I would be mad if the rest of the class got to go out but I had to stay as this story implies!

As a sub, I routinely keep a student or students in at recess because of their behavior. My mantra is, "If you don't work during class time, you get to work during recess."
