In my little town in Missouri, we jumped 8 cents over night. Now at $1.84

Maybe a grotesquely high tax on purchases of oversized passenger vehiclesWhat is oversized? For me it is simple. I can buy two small cars to cart around my family, or one big enough for everyone. Which is more efficient? How about a high tax on idiots instead?

Well...if they actually were in this for the oil, wouldn't they have done just that before the election to ease re-election?????

Actually, I drive 60 miles a day on the highway and elsewhere. I see MANY suv's and large vehicles. Only in about every 8th or 9th one do I EVER see more than one person. Nice meeting you too.

What if the entire U.S went nuclear (I don't know how many plants are needed to make that a reality... a 1000 new ones would be a good start)? It would definitely lower energy prices across the board. How much oil would that free up for other areas?

I don't think he's saying that there in it for the oil; he's arguing that there in it for the profits. Lowering prices might be good politics but bad economics according to this theory.

I think my next car is going to be a four-cylinder (okay, I probably won't go that far) Nissan.

I am certain that several refineries in Cali will go off line in order to push it even higher.

$2.09 at 4 pm and $2.99 this morning
I bet you meant $1.99 this morning, right?

I'll double check tonight when I go by there. But that is no guarantee that if I was mistaken about the $2.99 earlier, it WON'T be $2.99 by this PM. Maybe I read it wrong, for sure I was not going to pull in for a better look.
