If the Davis's are wealthy, they sure don't show it by the house they live in, although they did get a $100,000 settlement from the city a few years ago. Probably the money goes to house Moe.
They are certainly eccentric, though. They raised Moe like the child they never had. When he was young, they took him around the city to schools, etc., but then there were two incidents in recent years, one was the finger-biting and he also attacked a cop. The cop was injured, but not too badly.
They live on a busy street here in my town, and their entire front yard is taken up with signs like "free Moe" etc. St. James used to sit for hours on end in an old beat-up chair in his front yard trying to get people to sign his petition to allow Moe back into the city. I never quite understood why they didn't just move so they could be closer to Moe if that's what they really wanted.
The whole affair cost our city a bundle of money in legal fees, that's for sure.

People here will probably feel more sympathy for the poor victim in this story St James Davis after reading this
2002 Story about Moe. Davis really went all out for his chimp and visited the Sanctuary very regularly, which makes it all the more puzzling why the chimps who must have known him, would have attacked him so brutally.

'These two kind of remind me of that bear 'expert' that got eaten by bears.'
Good analogy, the bear idiots were the cake.

From the standpoint of bathing or killing the rampaging animal.

What year Nova? It was a late 60s 'box' Nova. Good weight transfer on accel. Needed a new engine, which I didn't anticipate. Why? It was you?

Don't forget the "chewed off his face" part.
I bet St. James isn't feeling so chimp happy tonight. Wait until he sees his face in the mirror.

I feel badly for them, but I think they were more than very foolish and evidently had little regard for the welfare of people over animals.
The same goes for some dog owners and parents !!

Stuff happens when you mix people and animals and, other than simply offing every ugly or hungry critter we see, someone has to take care of the furry jetsam the rest of us create.
I'm sure some lndian restaurants can help us out
MMMM Chilled monkey brains MMMM
How decadent !

The other article says they have 5 times the upper body strength of a human and routinely kill much larger prey.
