The problem that you don't seem to understand is that the purported "wish to die" is NOT TERRI's wish, but MICHAEL'S WISH---FOR Terri!!!
Since Terri HASN'T died---even after TWO "legal" attempts to kill her (and who knows haw many "illegal" attempts)---Michael NEEDS Terri DEAD in the WORST way! He cannot afford to have her get the $750,000 of THERAPY he POCKETED---she might IMPLICATE him in seveal ATTEMPTS to MURDER her!!!
If I recall Michael never tried to murder her. She collapsed because of some kind of medical problem, related to low potassium. I will recall the name of the medical condition soon. MICHAEL DID NOT CAUSE THE INJURYS THAT PUT HER IN THE HOSPITAL! Didn't she fall out of bed to sustain injury that those responsible caregivers were sued for?
Wasn't there some sort of malpractice because of Michael following the advice of a doctor to try an experimental treatment that failed? Apparantly at that time he was willing to try to save her if it was medically feasable. That treatment failed and nothing has changed in the 10 years since.
It is simplistic for you to believe that somehow your idea of treatment is better that that which has already tried and failed. There are some cruel things in life that people have to accept and move on beyond. Your "concern" is pretty much a one sided path of suppositions of "what if" and "what could" and "if only" things would be different.
Nursing homes are full of miracles waiting to happen. The sad reality of it all is that the glimmer of "hope" is a non medical emotion rather than a treatment for most. And after a decade of wishful thinking nothing has changed.
A legal guardian realizes the reality of the times. Outside interferance has completely unrealistic expectations based on second guessing suppositions.
