Greer overrode that. I don't know whether DCF will be appealing that decision, or what the effect is going to be. I also don't know whether the decision could turn out to in fact be a good thing for Terri (even though it's certain Greer is almost certainly releasing the documents in the hopes they'll harm her).

Among other things, one of the primary purposes of sealing documents such as this is to protect the privacy of the people being investigated. If Michael's lawyers were pushing to have the documents unsealed, it would seem that would make it more difficult for them to argue that the investigation is infringing upon their privacy or Terri's. Further, while having to conduct the investigation publicly may make some people more succeptible to pressure not to rock the boat, it would also make them more succeptible to pressure from Terri's Angels to tell the truth and not cover things up.

My personal suspicion is that Greer's decision was grossly illegal but may end up benefitting Terri.
