Did Yuri Gagarin make an orbit? I though John Glenn was the first to orbit. Anyway the title of this article is inaccurate. Fosset is the first to fly nonstop without refueling.

No, the Gagarin first flight was an orbit. Our Shepard sub-orbital flight was just a quickie to get us on the boards.

I always thought John Glenn had what we used to call, "a sponsor".

He was not the first man in space, he was not the first American in space, and he was not the first man to orbit the earth, yet he got more publicity than anyone, including the first man on the moon.
