I agree there are hidden/embedded taxes, but most of them are embedded taxes in labor costs which cannot be wrung out, unless all Federal taxes are removed.

What labor-cost tax are they that make up the majority of hidden/embedded taxes? Payroll taxes are removed, FICA is removed, the cost to do the records and paperwork to comply is removed. Those are easily majority of embedded labor cost taxes.

OK, I'll try to make it as clear as I can.

A guy is making $50K, say, and instead of paying 20% in income taxes, he has to pay 20% in sales tax. Is he going take anything less than $50K from his employer? -- no way. So the hidden/embedded tax is still there -- it's now an embedded sales tax instead of an income tax, but it's still built into the employer's costs.
