Rehnquist's statement is totally consistent with the Constitution and the Founders' views of judicial independence. If you don't like it you either must change the constituion or do violence to the document. But to do either will be far more destructive of the Law than these decisions.

I disagree completely with your conclusion. The United States and freedom will never be safe until we have Term Limits for members of Congress and Term Limits for members of the federal judiciary. Those who cannot see this have learned nothing from the lessons of history. Fools never learn from their mistakes and simply keep repeating them. We have less than a decade to correct this mistake.
