"...He filmed a U.S. soldier shooting and killing an Iraqi who appeared to be unarmed. When the footage aired and Sites got caught up in a debate that included media ethics, he was thankful for the ability to put the controversy in context for the public.
"I had a chance through that blog to address my critics directly, to address the people I cared about directly -- those Marines that I was embedded with," Sites said. "I cared a great deal about them and wanted them to understand the nature of my actions."

The nature of his actions being to sell out the very Marines who were protecting him. He knew that his footage would be used as propaganda, out of context, by enemies of America such as Al-Jazeera and Liberals to attack America and the Bush Administration. This award is the pay-off. Any FR who have friends or relations in the military, Sites is currently in Indonesia, the current in spot for carrion feeders. He has a picture on his website on the deck of a carrier, wearing military protection. Evidently, our military is still all too happy to assist him in his quest for fame.
