Lezner is the scum of the Earth.

Clinton's henchman speaking about ethics is really one for the scrapbook.

There is a book about harry truman. It is called an oral history. The author met with Truman in his Presidential library. Taped many hours of Truman talking about his political career and then published them in a book.

In the book Truman talks about going west in his Whistle stop train in 1948 only to end up in the Ambassidor Hotel in LA. The campaign was broke. There was not enough money to pay for the train to go back to D.C.

Truman said he met Howard Hughes in person in the employees stairway in that hotel. Hughes gave Truman $50,000 in cash.

That fifty grand paid for Trumans Whistel stop from LA to Washington D.C.

What was thought to be behind the water gate break in was the rumor that Howard Hughes had given the head of the DNC several hundred thousand dollars. The head of the DNC was Larry O'Brian. O'Brian was known to have contact with Hughes and O'Brians DNC office was in the Watergate Complex.

Many people over the years have beleived that the Nixon "plumbers" were looking for Proof that Howard Hughes had given the Democrats 100 grand to help elect McGovern.

Hughes over the years had run ins with several Republicans .. including Senator Brewster who tried to nail Hughes with ripping off the government during WWII.

Hughes flight of the Spruce Goose was in response to the charges that the government had spent millions on the Spruce Goose and it would not even fly. Those charges were made by Republicans.

Hughes was always allied with Democrats. They were not always allied with him.. But certainly Harry Truman was with Hughes. Truman did not mention in his book what Hughes got for his $50,000. But you can bet is was worth a lot more than fifty grand.

$100,000 for campaigns to Nixon is wrong, but a $100,000 bribe to Hillary for her personal use is OK (the cattle futures scandal).

I think one of Dick Tuck's tricks in the 1960 election was to have signs in Chinese characters asking "What about the Hughes loan?" in the background at a Nixon campaign appearance, referring to the loan to Donald Nixon...of course only people who could understand Chinese characters knew what the signs said.

Good God, I have a senate investigation report on this whole incident somewhere in a closet that was published more than thirty years ago. I picked it up in the senate printing office, I think. To call this NEWS is the height of absurdity.

I read a book more than 20 years ago about this called Citizen Hughes. It covered this subject at length. Old news.

The book is called Plain Speaking and I have it within arm's reach. Do you have a page #? Howard Hughes is not in the glossary.

I can imagine CBS's 60 Minutes reporting in the year 2175: "Ibrahim Rather, Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather of the Great Dan Rather, reports that Nixon really was he root of all evil. We are still analyzing the faxes."
