'Most Wanted' Suspect Arrested For Shoplifting At Meijer
Fingerprints Matched To Fugitive In FBI Database
POSTED: 11:47 am EST March 2, 2005
A man wanted for attempted murder was taken into custody for allegedly shoplifting at a Fraser grocery store.
Skerdi Zena was arrested last Tuesday after he and a 44-year-old woman were caught on surveillance camera allegedly stealing items from a Meijer store on Utica Road.
He's wanted for attempted murder in London, Ontario. Zena is accused of stabbing a woman several times with a screwdriver and leaving her for dead, Local 4 reported.
"If he was that violent towards women and he was considered armed and dangerous, we took every step to get him off the roadway," said Sgt. Len Celletti, of the Fraser Police Department.
After his arrest last week, Zena told police that his name was Boja Fatmir, according to the Web site. Fraser police fingerprinted the suspected shoplifter and released him on bond. One day later his fingerprints were matched to the fugitive Skerdi Zena.
On Saturday, police arrested Zena as he was leaving his house in Fraser, according to the Web site. He was taken to the Macomb County Jail.
Zena allegedly stole $60 worth of items from the Meijer.
Authorities plan to bring Zena back to Canada, where he faces two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, five counts of assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon and criminal harassment.
Good work, Fraser Police Department! Congratulations for doing your job quickly and thoroughly. Another Most Wanted animal taken off the streets by sharp and conscientious police.
Criminals are SO stupid. If I was wanted for murder, the last thing I would do is risk shoplifting for $60.
Unless your starving while on the lamb because of your own stupidity to begin with.

Skerdi Zena (mugshot)
This guy sounds like a psycho to us. Meet Skerdi Zena, seen here in a mug shot taken by Canadian authorities, who currently want Zena on charges he randomly attacked a woman in her home. According to London, Ontario (Canada) police, Zena broke into a woman's home early in the morning on January 31, 2004. There is no known connection between the woman, who's a single mom with four kids, and Zena. Cops say Zena allegedly climbed through a back window, found the woman sleeping in her bed, and proceeded to stab her multiple times and beat her severely. He then ran out of the house, leaving behind his shoes, coat and cell phone.***** Zena's an Albanian national, with ties to family in New York and Detroit.***** Turn this whacko in and get him off the streets.
