So, for those who like gladiator movies, "The Fall of the Roman Empire" (with an appropriately large cast) is good. ("Gladiator" was a poorly remade rehash.)

26. War of the Worlds (1953, no rating). The antidote to 1996's Independence Day. What was wrong with Independence Day?
30. In the Heat of the Night (1967, no rating). A classic film about a black New York detective who travels to the South
Virgil Tibbs was from Philly.
Good list, btw.

I'm surprised he didn't include "A Walk to Remember."

"The End of the Affair" has a strong Christian message. I figure that perhaps Colson didn't see it or I would think it would be included in his list.

Colson is nuts. I wonder if he knows how many movies on his list were written and/or directed by Communists.
"Frequency" is the best film on any of his lists.

I found his description of The Lion King a little naive - the theme of that movie to me was summed up in the song by the gay one... "The Circle of Life" More bhuddist than Christian. But that's just me.
