This time, Democratic Party chief Howard Dean didn't have to scream to get attention.
The former presidential candidate told party faithful at a Kansas fund-raiser last week that the party's conservative opponents are "evil," according to the Lawrence Journal-World.
"This is a struggle of good and evil," he told the gathered activists, who
paid $100 apiece to hear the new Democratic chairman. "And we're the good."
Republican reaction came fast and furious.
Derrick Sontag, executive director of the Kansas Republican Party, was "shocked" by Dean's comments. Said Sontag: "My immediate reaction to that
whole dialogue is it's full of hatred. The Democratic Party has elected a
leader that's full of hatred."
Media weren't allowed at the meeting, where Dean provided hungry donors with plenty of red meat amid the "Dean for America" signs. But Dean spoke over a public address system in the backyard of a private home, making it easy for the Journal-World's reporters to listen in.
At one point, Dean asserted that "moderate Republicans can't stand these
people [conservatives] because they're intolerant. They don't think
tolerance is a virtue." He added, "I'm not going to have these right-wingers
throw away our right to be tolerant."
Borrowing a phrase from former President Bill Clinton, Dean also said the
party must commit to making abortions "safe, legal and rare" while
maintaining a woman's rights to choose.
"The issue is not abortion," Dean told the closed-door crowd. "The issue is
whether women can make up their own mind instead of some right-wing pastor, some right-wing politician telling them what to do."
Kansas Democratic Party executive director Mark Simpson was unavailable to
say how much the party raised at the private home of Lawrence, Kansas,
residents John and Nancy Hiebert. But the appearance, along with a nearby
$5-a-head rally that drew 1,000 party loyalists, provided the state party
with much-needed cash, the paper reported.
Apparently, the Democratic chairman's public rally was more positive than
his private message to party insiders.
"It was wonderful, very energizing, a very positive, powerful message," said
Micheline Burger, who attended the large gathering. "It gives me a hope
there's a good future ahead of us, as opposed to what we've been having the
last four years."

I hope that he keeps it up with his big mouth. Just another nail in the Rat coffin.
Dean will continue to represent the liberal loonies while Hillary quietly takes the reins and drives her '08 political machine.
He thinks he's the Chairman of the Manicheist Party.
Not nice language sure, but let's think. Why is this shockin or evil newsworthy? Has a conservative ever called the Democrats evil? Has a democrate ever been called evil on Freerepublic? Yes, maybe the Dems are evil, but let's not flaunt hypocrisy and give them something to mock us for. Let's not sink to their level.
You have are correct. That is exactly what is happening. Even though the ultra Leftists don't want Hillary for president - I've been lurking and the will vote for whomever the nominee is just to get a Democrat back in the White House. So if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination they WILL vote for her.
Freudian slip--I meant "even" newsworthy.
These clowns cannot get off their 'text book' track. Here goes Dean-ocrat accusing the right of BEING EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE -- EVIL. I have a question for DUmmie Dean, "You want evil? Try exposing the Clintoons, all the way back into Arkansas...you a trail of REAL EVIL? You already have it." And they take all the 'awards' for being the BEST at it.
So if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination they WILL vote for her.

This is the twisted, sick part of the libs. They would vote for Joseph Stalin he were wearing the DEM badge...they don't care. Total brainwashing, as they continue to gorge themselves at THE GOVERNMENT PIG TROUGH.
Too bad NewsMax does little, if any, original reporting anymore.
I noticed that too. NewsMax is more like a tabloid website sometimes.
If Dean took more meds he wouldn't represent the core of his party...they're not taking their meds either.
What a maroon....ya gotta love it!
Anyone have a link to the video of the YEEEEEEEEAAAAAARG?
I have to wonder. If the head of the RNC had said the same thing, what would the media reaction have been? My feel is that it would have lead every newscast.
Dean will have to activley call for the open murder of republicans before the lib media will think he has actually gone over the line.
Or how many children of republican politicians slashed tires to repress the vote? Democrats don't want democracy, they want to win...regardless of the cost to our freedoms and nation.
Lest we forget that it's early. Much too early to go to work on Hillary. And once she outs herself, the coverage-good and bad-will begin.

This is more like a struggle between the mensches and putzes with Dean being the new head putz.
What part of this conservative, age 60, service connected retiree who served 4 years in south east asia, Mr Dean. Tell me to my face, will ya please.
Do these people seriously not realize that the remarks they make toward conservatives are intolerant of conservatives? If you preach that you must be tolerant of all ideologies and classes then you must be tolerant of those whose ideology appears less tolerant than yours. It's logical.
