Republicans want to follow constitutional guidelines on filibustering. Rather unlike the way that Ol' Sheets violated the constitutional rights of blacks for his personal jollies. I am surpised that he pull himself away from cross burnings to write anything.

This is the Fox News story from Brit's show:

Here is the "money quote:"

"Republicans had hoped to peel Salazar away from the Democrats' filibuster coalition. Byrd's harsh attacks also seemed to spook GOP leaders who suggested that he would not have come out swinging like that if he did not have virtually every Democrat behind him."

The standoff leads discouraging signs for the GOP, according to one aide, who said the Democrats appear to have the upperhand in this debate.

My head damn near blew off when Major Garrett said that on the show tonight.

some in the Senate (search) are ready to callously incinerate each senator's right of extended debate," Byrd said in remarks on the Senate floor.

You surrendered the right to debate by refusing to allow the entire Senate to vote.

On Tuesday, Sen. Robert Byrd (search) compared Republican tactics on nominees to Adolph Hitler's use of power in Nazi Germany. Byrd, of West Virginia (search), also said that if the GOP were to succeed in preventing Democratic filibusters of Bush's nominees, the move would "incinerate" the rights of all senators.

How many crosses have you incinerated on people's front lawns, Senator?

I am to the point where I am going to DEMAND that they do it; I'm sick of this; and if they want ONE DIME from me, they better do it.

I think we should ALL withhold our money until they take control of that chamber and knock these lyings SOBs on their butts.

Now that the Supreme Court has declared itself the final arbitrator of what is right and wrong I am going to agree that all judicial nominations should be withdrawn. No individual is wise enough or smart enough to be entrusted with that awesome power. No individual or small group can constantly be counted on to make perfect decisions and perfection is essential if we are to have a Supreme moral arbitrator. Also since none of the current judges can measure up we need to remove all of them. Then we can start trying to create a system where power is limited and a mere mortal can be trusted to occupy Judicial Office.

If the spineless RINO's don't rise to this challenge, I will be irretrievably livid. They don't appear anxious to stop rat voter fraud (at least here in WI), if we can't even get conservative judges with total gop control, there is truly no use...

I am seriously thinking about putting up a thread on this very forum asking people that read this forum NOT to donate one dime to the RNC until they pull this trigger.
