Why not accuse her of a crime. Gather some witnesses that all swear she commited an offense and make her stand trial.
You know, the law needs to be changed. I don't think anyone would think that a man like Michael would go on and have another family all the while still still the gaurdian over his poor disabled wife. I think the legislature needs to figure out a law where this kind of thing can be avoided in the future. We don't need any more Terri Schiavo's, ever again!
I've sad that myself more than once. But what about the Statute of Limitations????? Is Michael's possible attempted murder beyond it?
I think everyone needs to be prepared, psychologically, for the Schiavos to lose this fight -- and for Terri to be starved to death. The only consolation I can take away is that, as another poster has noted, her martyrdom - in the long run - could prove to be a turning point in the fight against euthanasia. In a somewhat similar way, when the Democratic establishment forced Elian back to Cuba, they helped elect George Bush, by energizing the Florida Cuban vote.
I agree, but as long as Terri is alive I think we should do everything we can to keep her alive.
There is no statute of limitations on murder.
The problem is basically political. Enough evidence is already out in the public forum to justify staying the removal of her feeding tube while the matter is investigated. But it would require a district attorney's decision to act, and I gather that the DA's in that part of Florida are corrupt.
I'd love to be proved wrong. And I wonder if there would be any way that Jeb Bush could intervene and begin a criminal investigation.
At the very least she should be removed from that corrupt nursing home and taken to a hospital, where she should be given a thorough physical examination.
Yes, but when her own bishop isn't standing up for her -- or at least doesn't seem to be, judging from his urging both sides to "mediate" -- it's hard to know what an average person can do.
Pray, we can pray! Also, the things I have done personally is donate money, e-mailed Jeb Bush, e-mailed the presidant, signed petitions, etc....
I hope people NEVER accept what they want to do Terri.
I will be ashamed of this country if they Starve her to Death.
I will Never believe the Governor of Florida could NOT have done more. Good grief, he can STOP A MURDERER FROM BEING EXECUTED. Why can't Bush stop this execution?
Heck that whole fiasco energized me to get off my butt and get involved. I'm not even Cuban.
To see this happening in this country just sickens me. She's not brain dead and has people willing to take care of her. Let the people who love her decide!
I read about a case decades back in Massachusetts involving a very elderly women, her mentally retarded son who had bladder cancer and the state. He had the abilities of about a 3 year old and his disease was terminal. The mother decided not to take extraordinary measures. (Starving him to death was not a consideration.) The state stepped in and their Supreme Court ruled that the family and physicians were "too emotionally involved to make the best decisions" for this poor man. The state took over all his medical decisions.
It reminds me of what is happening here. Too bad Terry isn't a cute little puppy. At least then she would be safe. Fricken amazing.
The Romans left unwanted babies on hillsides to die. Boy would the left be in celebratory mode if they could bring that practice back.
Because the law doesn't give him any power to do so. The Florida legislature wrote the law and they can change it. Blaming Bush is aiming at the wrong target.
If there is anything he can do, feel free to say it.
I'd say call in the state troopers if need be, but that would only get her, maybe, one more day, and people would just conclude it was a stunt.
I did read that some lawyers were looking for "arcane" or "legally dubious" means to keep her alive.
I'm saddened to say, I doubt Governor Bush has the power, or anyone, on the face of this earth, has the power to stop this sick murder from taking place.
If a sick evil jurist decides her fate wrongly, there is not a man alive that will be able to stop her from being killed.
I understand what you guys are saying about the Gov having NO power to save her, but it just doesn't make sense too me.
I'm not trying to blame the governor, just saying it does NOT make sense. It's insane for the State of Florida to just let her die because there is NO Law to prevent it.
I'm very frustrated by this. I mean no offense to the Gov's efforts. There must be something that can be done.
Why NOT a presidential pardon of this Death Sentence.
I really think this is crazy for a Judge and a husband to get away with Starving Terri. She is NOT PVS.
Darn... What's wrong with our country. I think this type of thing will just happen more often. If people don't get out by the thousands, those who support this, will think the rest of us don't care.
If only 100's, or even 1,000's, could be seen by the News Media, then the World will know we care about Terri and want this stopped.
If they don't save this girls life from murder, I want to see the state legislators getting kicked from office or impeached and every judge who sanctioned this crime.
Something is wrong with society, where a girl who can breath on her own, needs to be starved to death so they can kill her, and the liberals call it compassion.
These same people wouldn't let a child raping murderer voluntarily starve to death, but they will fight to force a young innocent women do so.
What is wrong here?
I'm not sure, killing the kid today yourself, seems to be their measure of "progress".
I agree 100 percent, Sony. I can't stand what's going on.
I just hope and pray something happens before they get a chance to stop feeding Terri. I believe she is probably even more alert than the video shows.
After all it's been a couple of years or more since the videos were made. If only her family could sneak a recorder in her room and get it to someone in the Media who cares.
I've heard it said.... You should not listen to what politicans say, but watch what they do. Well, I'll be watching what they do in the next few weeks.
Great post, Lizma~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
