When I was a kid, my friends and I would jump off the garage to the ground.
We always wore a cape though and I guess that protected us somewhat.
It took a couple of tries jumping out of tree with the supply parachute my father brought home one time before i figured out parachutes just don't work if your jump is only 5-6 feet.
Our kids used to jump from the garage roof (even the
house roof) in the winter...when the snow piles were
7 1/2 feet high! <>g<>
