It took a couple of tries jumping out of tree with the supply parachute my father brought home one time before i figured out parachutes just don't work if your jump is only 5-6 feet.
the defense attorney should ask the jury that question. after watching the video, it amazes me what some people can say with a straight face when they are trying to get a settlement.
Man, would I like to sit on that jury. We'd be home for lunch.
"The Matrix"?
Shalom.
Our kids used to jump from the garage roof (even the
house roof) in the winter...when the snow piles were
7 1/2 feet high! <>g<>
The city needs to counter-sue the parents to recover the cost of the 911 response and any legal fees. I'm tired of the hearing about people doing idiotic things and then blaming someone else.
I think Rodney Dangerfield said, "I was such an ugly kid that when I was born the doctor slapped my mother."
Shalom.
D'Assaro, the lawyer, works here:

Let's just keep everyone in their houses tied to chairs. But then how would anyone eat? And what about those who choke?
YOU CANNOT ESCAPE RISK!!!!
Accident? Funny how problems caused by behavior are never accurately described (alcoholism, AIDS, drug addiction, poverty...)
He'll probably get away with suing too. The courts might consider the garage an "attractive nuisance" like they do with unfenced swimming pools.
Stupid kid. Even Stupider father. Opportunistic lawyer. Dumb court system.
Seriously, that is one incredible athlete in this video you linked! Fearless and skilled, truly.
Amazing.
Wow.
Oh, I know what it is: Bargfrede survived the 80-foot fall but was injured but survived the 80-foot fall.
Writing it the first way makes it sound as if they are surprised he was injured...
In fact, where there is none, people will create it (which is what is happening here).
"You'll fall and break our neck!" wasn't an admonishment, more like a mantra. Kids are rebelling (normal) against being maintained in a persistent vegetative state in front of the tube or computer or video game.
The more 'safe' their world is, the more 'extreme' the risks they take, simply because there are relatively few intermediate level risks left.
How about a No Trespassing sign and stiff penalties for these idiots.
Oh by the way, last night I cut my finger while chopping stir-fry veggies, guess I can sue Henkel for making their knife too sharp.
Ha! . . . Eventually some dumb lib would sue because "the fence tripped my son when he tried to leap over it and caused him to fall."
Liberalism is nothing more than a thieves scheme to rob the blameless blind.
This is why I hate all of these mandatory bike helmet laws, etc.
I bumped my head on the ground more than once as a kid and the most I needed was a few stitches. We are raising a generation of wusses.
Me, too. I wonder what he landed on. I went on a call where a guy bailed ninety feet into a shallow stream with an uneven rock surface. About a quarter of the top of his head split open, and his arms and legs were like those koozie tube toys kids play with at the pool. We had to slide a bag under him, as he would have come apart if we'd tried to pick him up like a normal victim. I've seen ninety foot, sixty foot and thirty foot falls. Thirty isn't too bad if they don't land on a hard surface on their head, ninety is gnarly.
