"We're subsidizing this larger than anyone else on Earth and we have a responsibility to make sure, as they're acting in our name, that there be a policy of zero tolerance," Smith said.

The fact of the funding asymmetry is only part of the problem. No policies? Probably no real rules of engagement. Ever changing commanders? Mixed force components not trained to any uniform standards? Diplomats occupying line command positions?

IMO Only a few of the problems with deploying such a force and virtually guaranteeing the inability to achieve any objectives (If any are actually clearly delineated) and making scandal and failure a virtual certainty.

......making scandal and failure a virtual certainty

I am wracking my furry stoat brain, trying to think of any true and tangible successes of the UN (things that they've done which have truly benefited people and /or created prosperity and a lasting peace among nations, not just lining the pockets of political fatcats).

I'm not having much luck  "sigh"
