Roberts WISHES this were so. Mostly, he's just a nutjob. Here's a fresh turd from real Paul Craig Roberts, new darling of the left:

Nothing to Fear But Bush Himself
By Paul Craig Roberts
Counterpunch.org

12 -13 February 2005 Edition

As things fall apart, lie and lie again.

Suppose you are the party responsible for invading a country under totally false pretenses. Suppose you had totally unrealistic expectations about the consequences of your gratuitous aggression.

What do you do when, instead of being greeted with flowers, you find your army is tied down by insurgents and you have no face-saving way to get out of the morass? If you are the moronic Bush administration, you blame someone else.

Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice, Cheney and Bush blame Syria and Iran for the troubles that they brought upon themselves. The Iraqi insurgency, say the Five Morons, is the fault of Syria and Iran.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

Why is this guy referring back to stuff that happened a long time ago? Is this all he's got to bash Bush with?

I read this article and thought it was a parody. There is nothing that indicates that the US ecnomy is in trouble. In fact, its on the rebound and we have yet to see its full potential. Sure, outsourcing has hurt the overall economy, but our unemployment has dropped to a %5.2 low. And the dollar is gaining strength against the Euro on reports that the unemployment rates in Europe are double digits.

Does PGR still write for the Washington Times?

As for as American's superpower status, yes militarily if and only if we have the fuel it requires.

When a nation imports more than 60% of it's energy/fuel to run it's nation economy and military that's not a good thing!

We are no longer a manufacturing superpower, I'm surprised steel mills are even still legal in the US.
