(SACRAMENTO) Republican Congressional Candidate, John Thomas Flynn (website: www.Flynn2005.com), has begun his paid advertising campaign. The Flynn campaign will begin with a radio ad blitz featuring the spot Better than Doris, which will air on several Sacramento radio stations.

Were excited to be going on the air with our first campaign ad. Weve seen a dramatic increase in both political and financial support for our campaign, and this is allowing us to hit the airwaves, said Republican congressional candidate, John Thomas Flynn
Doris Matsui has been flooding the airwaves with ads paid for by her lobbyist friends and special interest groups in Washington, D.C. Not only is her campaign report loaded with contributions from her friends in the Clinton Administration, it includes dozens of special interest groups in Washington who dont have the interests of Sacramento at heart, said Flynn.
The ad charges that the ethical lapses of Doris Matsui mean that voters cannot trust her in public office. While the ad focuses on her questionable real estate investment in Natomas, many other ethical lapses have plagued Matsui since her campaign began.
You start to wonder if there is a scandal around that Doris Matsui has missed? She was caught up in the Clinton White House illegal fundraising activities; she was involved in questionable lobbying activities on behalf of AKT Development; she participated in a get-rich-quick real estate deal that generated a huge profit in less than two years with a man who has many issues before public agencies; she has campaign contributions from the biggest special interest groups in Washington; and now, we find out that she is buddy-buddy with the former CEO of Fannie Mae, who was forced out for financial improprieties, says Flynn
Shes refused to come clean about the many ethical issues surrounding her campaign. The questions these issues raise do not paint her in a very good light, said Flynn.
Campaign disclosure statements have revealed that Matsui made a $214,000 profit in a real estate development put together by Sacramento developer Angelo Tsakopoulos and his company, AKT Development Corporation. His family and principal employees have already hosted a fundraiser for Matsui and contributed at least $18,000 to the campaign.
While a Washington D.C. lobbyist, disclosure forms reveal that AKT Development was a client of the Matsui lobbying firm, Collier Shannon Scott. Matsui claims that she never discussed her lobbying activities with her husband, even though Tsakopoulos was a major financial supporter of Bob Matsui as well
One of the critical issues before the Ways and Means Committee was approving funds for levee improvement in the Natomas area. Under Congressman Bob Matsuis leadership, funds were appropriated to enhance flood protection in the Natomas area. The effect was to cause a huge jump in property values, including the property called Greenbriar, a real estate partnership between Matsui and Tsakopoulos and unnamed other partners. Matsui refuses to disclose her other partners.
This deal is just one of the many ethical issues that have come up in this short campaign. It is obvious that Doris Matsui has a tin ear when it comes to conflicts of interest. I hope this radio ad will be the start of informing voters of this important fact, concluded Flynn.
A copy of the text from the ad follows:
ANNOUNCER: We cant trust congressional candidate Doris Matsui.
Doris Matsui was rewarded with over $200,000 from a get rich quick investment scheme with a developer, who is not only a major Matsui campaign contributor, but who also has pending issues before government agencies.
But when local teachers put their money into the same investment, their money went down the tubes.
We deserve a better choice for Congress - Conservative Republican John Thomas Flynn.
JOHN THOMAS FLYNN: Im John Thomas Flynn. We need a representative in Congress who has higher ethical standards.
I was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to head the Federal Regional Council and I served as regional director of the U.S. Department of Labor under both President Reagan and President Bush.
I was honored when Governor Pete Wilson selected me to serve as Californias first technology director. And I was proud to serve as an advisor to Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggers California Performance Review Committee.
Im John Thomas Flynn I approved this message and I would appreciate your vote.
I hope people come to realize that Doris Matsui and her Pelosi-Clinton friends have already raised $700,000 in an effort to slam this seat without a runoff (Matsui needs to get 50% + 1 vote to avoid a runoff).
If nothing else, folks, this is a great chance for us to make sure the Democrats end up having spent A LOT of money and then have to recommit to doing it all over again for a runoff... not to mention this will be major egg on Pelosi's botox-tight face when her attempt to learn the mistakes of Ohio (in terms of GOTV) fail!
Matsui is your typical liberal. They complain that conservatives are in the pocket of special interests, yet are blind to their own ethical challenges.
It doesn't surprise me that she worked for Clinton.
I wonder if Hilary's investment advisor is now working for Matsui?
The Janet Renos, Sandy Bergers, Doris Matsuis, Robin Ruebens - I've had enough of them... GO AWAY ALREADY!
I'm voting for Flynn
