People really are brainwashed. A conditioning process, definitely. Human life is becoming less and less valuable for it's mere existence than what it can produce.
OTOH, scumbag criminals are not productive in our society, but murderers, thugs, and rapists have friends and supporters with the ACLU, etc.
It makes no sense to me.
Many of these pro Terri death posters think that their desire for independence, autonomy, control etc will override their survival extinct if they ever become disabled and have to live in a less than optimal state(by their current thinking). I have news for them, while many become depressed, even most of those will become quite adapted to their state. While many will ask for someone to kill them, they will also scream if one of the staff is too rough, complain if they are hungry, or their needs are not met on time. People tend to adapt and achieve a certain comfort level in whatever current physical state they find themselves in. And most of the skilled nursing patients I have taken care of did not want to die, especially by starvation or dehydration.
I believe Terri has told us she wants to live in the only way she has been allowed, by surviving all the abuse and neglect that has been heaped on her.
