Lets consider thought that the state of Taxachussets is one of the most expensive places in the US to live. Thereby leaving a more prosperous and well-educated populace that is primarily Catholic. This in many ways would account for the stats MobyImStupid alludes to.

The problem with Taxachussets, is that they live in their own little world. Limo liberals if you will. If they spent a few days in the poverty ridden sections of the Mississipi Delta or in a barrio in Miami, they may have a better understanding of the impact of their marxist utopian social policies have.

They spend 8 months of a year crammed into their houses because it is cold as hell and aren't faced with the poverty every day.

I once proposed such an idea. Now I'm having second thoughts.

I'll take your word for it that Massachusetts is cold and expensive, but I wouldn't trust Moby's claims about statistics.

Gov. Romney was on C-SPAN this weekend at some event in South Carolina. He claimed that taxes had been brought down so much under his administration that the name Taxachusetts no longer applies.

Check out some of the threads.....there's a lot of discussion out there about the repercussions on our sovereignty. If this harmonization goes through there will be a common currency like the Euro.......most likely the dollar (or the Amero?).

So this is just speculation on the part of the anti-FTAA crowd? There has been no public discussion by administration officials or reputable economists (oxymoron) that the FTAA will result in a common currency?

"A lot of discussion" on "the threads" is not evidence. I'd like to see evidence that this is the direction we are likely to take. When President Bush (41) proposed the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas there was no discussion of common currency, just lowered trade barriers.

Thar she blows: as I understand it, he's known as Moby (electronic music "star") because he's related to Herman
Melville. (A few years ago I toured Arrowhead, the Melville
house in Pittsfield, MA, where his inspiration for the Great White Whale was nearby (snow-covered) Mt. Greylock, seen from one window.)

I think he got his butt kicked by some punks a few years ago...thought I read he weighs about 110 pounds because he's a vegan or something. No further comment.

From the New Music Express (the NME, or the "Enemy" as Paul mcCartney used to call them):

12-12-2002
MOBY ATTACKED IN BOSTON

MOBY has been attacked by three men in BOSTON.
The dance star was playing a show at the Boston Paradise Club in the US (December 11), as part of his ongoing tour in support of his new album '18'.

Writing on his official website, www.moby.com, Moby claims he was attacked "with mace".

He wrote: "After the show I went outside to get into my car. And there were a few people waiting for autographs, so as usual I stopped to sign a few things.

"And then all of a sudden I was attacked by (I believe) three men with mace. They punched me from behind and I really had no idea what was going on.

"After being punched in the head from behind a few times I turned around to see what was going on and one of them punched me in the face a couple of times and then they all ran away. So now I'm sitting here bloody and beaten up and waiting to file a police report."

As a result of the alleged attack, Moby says he has "bruises or stitches". He will be speaking to police in the coming days.

If FTAA goes through as planned I doubt we'll hear much from the admin. because they will not want Americans to know about losing more jobs to low wage countries, increased flow of illegals here to colonize....not assimilate, increased taxes to support them all, new supra-national governing commissions (as is the case in the EU), a new set of rights (privileges?) and a hybrid legal system to administer the new paradigm, and most likely a new currency for the whole hemisphere....it might even be the dollar (ala the EU), etc. This is worth investigating becasue I real beleive this is the whole enchilada....as envisioned by Senor Fox.
