Drat. I would've enjoyed seeing the other project he was talking about (the Maccabean Revolt). Still, I give this movie better than even odds of being more entertaining than anything else that will be in theaters alongside it.
Don't forget, all production companies like Gibson's Icon have multiple works in various stages of progress at any given time. Scorsese, for example, has at least three I know of; Peter Jackson's had at least two even while he wasworking on LOTR. For awhile Ridley Scott was going to film Crisis in the Hot Zone until that suddenly fell apart; then he was going to pick up Metropolis and THAT fell apart; and he took up Gladiator.
I'll believe he's working on a particular project when I hear it's actually started shooting.
